About time.....

Photographers from the various local media(s) on a field trip yesterday morning
with YB Tan Sri Datuk Patinggi Dr. George Chan & Mayor Lawrence Lai
inspecting Saberkas Tamu & taking immediate action by calling SESCO to cover the exposed wirings of several lamp posts along this stretch of Saberkas Pedestrian Walk.

Lama agi aku ke nulis tu,within a few minutes I saw a SESCO vehicle with some technicians bringing the covers to seal the exposed wirings. I took the opportunity to ask an accountant friend who was with Tan Sri,whether the authority/ies concerned have thought of building a Public Toilet at the Saberkas Tamu. He replied in the positive...so we'll have to wait & see, won't we? Ya,strange but true, there's no public toilets at Saberkas Tamu,so if you pass by the tong sampah shed near the big carpark,do not be alarmed by a very strong smell of " ammonia gas" filling the air. Ya,some of the male traders use it as a pee pit.

Tuna

 Tuna fillet
Could this be the Yellow fin tuna?
Tuna fillet..good meat to eat raw dipped in soy sauce & wasabi

After a visit to Porky Shop,we went to the Emart Fish market. As I was on my way out,I saw this fish, one that I always see on tv but never in real life. I stopped by the stall &  asked the fish monger if it was what I thought. Yes,it's tuna fish. I never came across this fish at the fish market. Maybe you have but that was the very first time I saw tuna being sold here, not even at the cold storage.I was afraid to ask how much after hearing the Japanese were paying thousands of yen to get a tuna fish. Anyway, curiosity got the better of me so I asked the fish monger how much it cost.

Cheap! Cheap!said the fish monger...the tuna costs RM16/- per kilo only. She even mentioned if I were to eat tuna at a Japanese restaurant in town(she mentioned the restaurant),it would cost you @RM50/-per serving. This one ONLY RM16/- per kilo. Okay Okay, give me 1 slice only lah,I said to her. She calculated...RM11/- only..you see,so cheap!she ended. Yes, I bought a slice costing me RM11/- & I had it thinly sliced to make shashimi tuna.

Porky Shop,Emart Tudan.

Just incase there are some of you who have not heard or been to Porky Shop, like my friends Alex & Rina until yesterday, here I would like to introduce this place to you. This shop is on the same block as KFC, (Kentucky Fried Chicken),Emart,Tudan, opposite Emart BBQ Centre aka  rumah asap/smoke house. What do they have here? They sell fresh pork, bacon, ham & sausages plus other groceries as well.
Seen above, the proprietress of Porky Shop,a friendly lady, who kindly consented to let me take 2 photos of her & the food. Her husband,a Swiss (I think cos I saw a Swiss cow bell hanging somewhere near the entrance) makes the sausages, ham & bacon. Yes,he makes them. All I can say,if you have not been there or tried the food that I just mentioned, treat yourselves/self to some good food this weekend...yummy!! & they are reasonably priced as well. I love the smell of the bacon.

Kemari, udah kami makai bubur ba Kedai Wong, kami alu ngagai Emart, ngetu ba kedai tu ke benama Porky Shop. Lama aku udah ka mantai ke kedai tu ba blog but never got around to do so.

+Xmas is fast approaching. Besides preparing ourselves spiritually for the coming of Christmas,I am sure, if not most, some of us are probably  thinking of getting some Chrismas-sy food like bacon, sausages & ham. Well, you don't have to look far & beyond looking for such food, for here,at Porky Shop(,Emart area,Tudan,) all these are available. They are home-made,too. I saw some turkeys being sold here, too.+

Stay........just a little bit longer!

Unlike most of my friends  who cannot wait for November to pass quickly so that they can go ahead with their holiday plans,I somehow  would like the month of November to pass slowly. Yes,November, won't you stay a little bit longer? I want 2010 to stay a bit longer, too.
Why?,you may ask. There's nothing to it..nothing at all but I just feel that it is passing too fast for my liking. Nothing great had happened this year that I can use to support why I want November & 2010 to stay a little bit longer.Infact, nothing of significance has had  happened to date to be "gaga-gaga" about;it's more like a lousy year. There has had been too many challenges beyond comprehension to handle but Good Lord,Thank You for being with us.
Yesterday evening,a friend Jetli, who just got back from a business trip from S'pore showed some photos from his handphone of Orchard Road preparing for Xmas. I do not know why but whenever I think of Xmas decos,I think of Orchard Road,Singapore. Ya,the sight would be lovely, wouldn't it?
No matter how I want November & 2010 to stay a little bit longer,I guess it/they will just slip away as fast as they can...no stopping.Ya,December,Xmas..they are fast approaching while 2011 is already waiting at the door..waiting to be ushered in.

As the saying goes,"Time waits for no men."
